Your privacy matters to us. We're a small, hands-on company, and we treat your information the way we'd want ours treated: carefully, and only for good reason. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what rights you have.

Who we are

Renacasa (Renacasa, Lda Tax ID/NIF: 519619943) is based at estrada nacional n18, kilometro 98.5, Armazém A. 6005-118, Alcains, Portugal. We are responsible for the personal data described here. Privacy questions: info@renacasa.pt.

Information we collect

Contact details: name, email, phone, country, nationality and your messages to us. These come from our Contact, Follow the Build, Join the Waitlist and similar online forms, or from email, phone, social media, or in-person conversations.
Project and property information (enquiry and contracted clients): desired/requested accommodation size, configurations and amenities, budget information, documentation showing land ownership, location, road and utility access, zoning, and municipal permissions needed to legally place a container home. This may include identification and tax numbers such as your NIF.
Payment information: details needed to process payments for contracted products and services. Payments are handled by bank transfers by the client; we do not store full card numbers or banking details (IBAN, SWIFT).
Website data: cookies and basic analytics (pages visited, device type, approximate location) through our website platform. See "Cookies" below.

Why we use your information, and our legal basis

To respond to your enquiries and provide requested communication (consent, or steps before entering a contract)
To deliver and administer contracted products and services (contract)
To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations (legal obligation)
To send updates about the build, waitlist, or news, only if you've asked (consent; unsubscribe anytime)
To keep our website secure and understand how it's used (legitimate interest)

Sharing your information

We never sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run Renacasa, and only what they need to do their job. These may include our website host, email provider, payment processor, construction and installation partners, and professional advisors such as accountants and legal counsel. They are required to protect your data and use it only for our purposes.

We may also disclose information where required by law or by a public authority. Beyond this, we will ask for your explicit consent before sharing your personal data.

International transfers

Some providers process data outside the European Economic Area. When they do, we rely on safeguards recognized under GDPR, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

Enquiries and waitlist: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete, or 36 months of inactivity
Client and contract records: for the duration of the project plus the period required by Portuguese tax and accounting law

Your privacy rights

Wherever you live, we extend the rights granted under the EU General Data Protection Regulation to you. You may ask to:

identify the personal data we hold about you
correct anything inaccurate
delete your data
restrict or object to how we use it
receive your data in a portable format
withdraw consent at any time

To exercise any right, email info@renacasa.pt. We'll respond within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with Portugal's data protection authority, the CNPD (www.cnpd.pt), or your local authority.

Our website uses cookies for essential functions and, with your consent, analytics. You can manage your preferences through our cookie banner or your browser settings.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously.

Children

Our services are intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18, and will delete it if we learn we have.

Changes

We may update this policy as our business grows. The date at the top shows the latest version.
